If you travel abroad more than once a year, especially if you are travelling outside of Europe, an annual policy will often save you money as well as giving you the the convenience and peace of mind of not having to arrange cover each time you travel.

If your home insurance includes cover for your baggage (we strongly recommend you check this), you can opt for economy cover which excludes baggage cover.

The Foreign Office operates a Know Before You Go service which gives advice to UK nationals. They also have warning for UK tourists visiting certain countries. Please note that Travel Insurers exclude cover for trips to countries the Foreign Office advises UK nationals not to visit. Details>>

We strongly recommend that you take a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) whenever you travel abroad. This replaced the E111 Form and entitles you to free or reduced medical treatment in most European countries. You should note that some travel policies are subject to you carrying an EHIC card.
